Lions bit not strong enough in loss to Leopards, 62-61.

Boston, Mass.  The Eastern Nazarene College (2-11/1-1) mens basketball team fell in the final minute of play, 62-61, to the Wentworth Institute of Technology (5-7/1-1) tonight in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match up at the Tansey Gymnasium on Wentworth's campus.

Taking a 59-58 lead with 1:28 remaining in the game, the Lions sent Wentworth's Jack Barrett to the free throw line one too many times, and themselves did not convert on the front end of a one and one, to give up the lead with :29 seconds remaining, going on to lose their first TCCC game of the season.

The Lions led at the break, 34-27, having shot a hot 41.9% from the field in the first half and 85% from the free throw line (6 for 7).  Nearly leading in every category, the Lions fell short of their goal as the Leopards took the lead in the final moments on the streaky free throw hand of Barrett.

Eastern Nazarene's Max Barbosa (Boston, Mass.) led all scorer's with 21 points in shooting 8 for 14 from the field, 3 for 6 from behind the three point line.  Jonathan Georges (Randolph, Mass.) led the Lions on the boards pulling in 9 rebounds to go with his 1 assist, 2 blocks and 3 steals.

Eastern Nazarene faces Newbury College on Thursday at 7:00 pm in a non-conference match up as they try to find their third win of the season.
