Nor'easters Blanket Lions, 89-56

20, 2010- Eastern Nazarene College fell, 89-56, to the hot shooting University
of New England tonight at the Lahue P.E. Center on the campus of Eastern Nazarene
College this Wednesday. The visitors
shot extremely well from the field (58% FG) in their fourth The Commonwealth
Coast Conference (TCCC) win.
UNE shot an impressive 60% from the field, sinking 50% of
their shots (3-6) from behind the three point line. ENC was ice cold from the field, shooting
only 38% FG in the first half and 31% in the second half as they led 43-29
going into the half.
The Nor’Easter’s offense was versatile and balanced, with the
team compiling 14 assists with five players reaching double digits.
Kelly Paradis
(Newport, ME) led the Nor’Easters with 17 pts and 7 rebs and shot an
outstanding 7 of 8 from the field and 3 for 3 from behind the arc. Her effort
was supported by fellow starters Carrie
Bunnell (Barnet, VT) with 11 pts and Margo
Russell (Madison, ME) with 12 pts. Beth Suggs (Bath, ME) contributed an
impressive 16 pts off the bench.
Ja’na Jenkins (
Oakland, CA) lead the Lions in scoring with 14 pts and 7 rebs and Shardae Brown (Waterbury, CT) broke
double digits with 11 pts and 4 rebs.
The loss drops Eastern Nazarene below .500 on the season,
7-8 (1-3 TCCC), and the University of New England improves to 13-3 (4-0
TCCC). ENC plays their next game this Saturday
versus Regis College while UNE faces Anna Maria on the same day.
