Volleyball scores first Lion win, 3-1 over St. Joseph's, CT.
September 5, 2009. North Adams, MA.-Eastern Nazarene volleyball (1-1) represented the first team in the athletic department to break into the win column for the first time since the school changed the school mascot this summer to be the "Lions" as they beat St. Joseph's College of Connecticutt this Saturday at the MCLA Tri-Match in North Adams, MA. The Lions showed their tenacity as they came out on top to win 3-1 in four very close games, winning the first two 30-28, 25-21, dropping the third 23-25, and finishing the match off in the fourth game 27-25.
Amber Burns (Fall River, MA) led the Lions reaching double digits in both kills (11) and digs (10) as Laura Giberson (Hingham, MA) followed with 8 kills and 9 digs. Bethany Greenfield hustled around the floor and accumulated 28 assists, while Kaitlyn Yoder (Smithsbury, MD) picked up 6 kills, 6 aces and 7 digs.

Eastern Nazarene falls to host MCLA, 3-0.
September 5, 2009. North Adams, MA.-Eastern Nazarene dropped the second match of the tri-match 0-3 (20-25, 17-25, 9-25) to host Mass. College of the Liberal Arts, 3-0, to move their record to 1-2 for the season.
Amber Burns (Fall River, MA.) recorded 15 digs and 6 kills to lead the Lions in the effort as the Trailblazers played sound defense while challenging the Lions on the attack.
Eastern Nazarene hosts Salem State College on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 pm at Eastern Nazarene College's Lahue PE Center in Quincy, MA. for their next contest.
