ENC opens Invitational with 3-1 loss to Regis.

September, 11, 2009.  Dartmouth, MA. - Eastern Nazarene fell to conference member Regis College, 3-1, in a non-conference game at the campus of UMass-Dartmouth Friday as they played their first game of the annual two day invitational tournament this year.

The two teams split the first two games 25-16 and 20-25 but the Pride then swept the last two, 25-10 and 25-13, to make this a four game match.

Eastern Nazarene moves on to face Framingham State in their second game today.

September 11, 2009.  Dartmouth, MA. - Eastern Nazarene fell to Framingham State in three straight games, 25-12, 25-13 and 25-8 in the second game of the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational this Friday on the UMass-D. campus today.

 

Senior Laura Kline led the Lions offense with 4 kills at the net as Bethany Greenfield had 9 assists whiled leading the team on defense with 13 digs.

Salem State slips by Eastern Nazarene, 3-0.

September 12, 2009.  Dartmouth, MA. - Salem State narrowly edged by Eastern Nazarene for the second time this week as they earned the win in games one and two by two points, 25-23 and 26-24, and then carried the momentum into game three with a 25-16 win.

Laura Kline continues to lead the Lions at the net with 7 kills as teammate Amber Burns followed with 6 kills of her own as Bethany Greenfield dished out the ball with 17 assists.  It was a busy day defending as  four players were in double digits with digs, Kaitlyn Yoder-19, Laura Giberson-13, Bethany Greenfield-11 and Amber Burns with 10.

Earlier in the week the two teams met at ENC where the Vikings took a 3-2 win home with them.

Eastern Nazarene faces Simmons College on Thursday, Sept. 17, another repeat opponent within the week, before they begin The Commonwealth Coast Conference play next weekend.

 September 12, 2009.  Dartmouth, MA. - Simmons defeated Eastern Nazarene 3-1 in the final game of the 2009 UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Tournament today on the campus of UMass-Dartmouth in Dartmouth, MA. today.

After falling behind in the first two games, 25-16 and 25-13, of the best out of five game match up, the Lions responded by pulling off a win in game three, 27-25, but could not continue to carry the momentum in game four, falling by the score of 25-13.

Eastern Nazarene faces Simmons again next Thursday, Sept. 17 at home in Quincy, MA. at 7:00 pm.
