Eastern Nazarene swept by Emmanuel, 3-0.
Quincy, MA, September 22, 2009. The Emmanuel College Saints easily handled the Eastern Nazarene College Lions in three straight sets this evening in the Lahue PE Center this Wednesday night. The Saints recorded their third straight, winning 25-12, 25-7 and 25-20, boosting their record to 5-4. Despite a strong rally in the third set, Eastern Nazarene College was unable to execute the comeback, recording their eleventh loss,1-11, as they see their losing streak extend to ten in a row, having failed to win since their second game of the season.
The Lions struggled to find consistent play, and seemed a step behind the Saints throughout the entire match. The Saints, aided by the strong offense of Rebecca Stanton (Quincy, MA) and Megan Murray (Killingsworth, CT), who each recorded 4 kills, were able to keep the Lions from ever building any momentum. Despite 4 kills by Amber Burns (Fall River, MA), ENC was unable to match the team play of the Saints.
Eastern Nazarene will try to snap their ten game losing streak on the road this Thursday at Suffolk University, September 24. Emmanuel College will try to extend their winning streak to five games this Thursday as well, where they will face off against Framingham State.
