"God’s plans for my life have been unexpected and incredible. I have questioned God’s will for me multiple times but now I know that I am where I am supposed to be.
I moved here from Egypt in 2000. I did not know what God had in mind but I decided to overcome my stubbornness and go with it. He has watched over my family ever since we left our comfort zones and followed His voice. It has been a great experience and although I struggled with God's decision, there truly is nowhere I would rather be.
My freshman year at ENC has been a memorable and challenging one. Even though it is a Christian school, you still face trials and temptations. God has revealed himself to me countless times and I have taken advantage of every opportunity I could: I was a part of the chapel worship team, I write in several magazines and newspapers (read Caren’s work on p. 10!), and I have the honor of participating in the College Outreach program this summer. God has truly opened doors for me.
I was blessed this year when I was notified that I will be receiving a scholarship. Before enrolling, my father and I discussed applying for scholarships because we really can’t afford college. But because my father knows how in love I am with ENC, we began the scholarship process. This year, when I thought nearly all hope was lost and I may not be able to live on campus anymore or afford school, I was notified that I had a scholarship. It was truly the last thing I was expecting and it was very encouraging! It has taught me not to give up even when I think it’s hopeless. I want to thank YOU for that opportunity."
