Aspiring writers will have a chance to have their work reviewed and critiqued at a series of free writing workshops to be offered by Eastern Nazarene College.

To be held in the college's Nease Library beginning in September, the 90-minute workshops will be held on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons and are open to the community. At each session, writers may bring four to six copies of a work in progress for reading, discussion and feedback, with sessions facilitated by ENC English department faculty and senior creative writing students.

"This is a great opportunity for writers to receive constructive feedback in a welcoming and supportive creative environment," said English Professor Marianna Krejci-Papa. "It's not necessary, however, for participants to bring works for critique in order to participate. Developing writers can learn much simply by participating in the reading and discussion process."

The first writing workshop will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday September 8 in Eastern Nazarene's Nease Library, 23 E. Elm Ave., Wollaston. Additional September workshops will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday September 19 and from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday September 22, with sessions continuing throughout the school year. While advance registration is not required, the first three participants who register in advance will have their works read and critiqued; additional readings from other participants will be taken as time allows.
