Students gather with faculty for the Opening Convocation chapel service

The first week of school began with a hurricane-turned-tropical-storm and ended with a chapel service celebrating the start of another school year. In between, hundreds of students moved onto campus, the Nease Library celebrated the grand opening of the new Learning Commons on the first floor, the Lady Lions volleyball and soccer teams each celebrated an opening game victory, and faculty and students met together for the first classes of the semester.

Check out a few photos of the week’s events:

Six students were honored at the Opening Convocation Chapel with a new ENC Achievement Scholarship for excellence in the General Education Core: Ketura Moise, Stephen Shenouda, Wesley Paul, Alexandra Foran, Rajesh Gomes, and Jolie Uzkamunda. The students were nominated by a faculty member and selected by a committee.

Facilities worked hard to clean up after Hurricane Irene. Thankfully this tree by Lahue was the only significant damage.
