New Faculty Members Join Campus

ENC is proud to announce five new full-time faculty members have joined the community for the 2011-2012 academic year:

Mr. Robert Purpura is a new Assistant Professor for the Teacher Education Department at ENC. Rob comes to ENC with nine years as an Assistant Principal for Quincy Public Schools and seventeen years of teaching experience in Quincy Public Schools. He was selected for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2003 and 2004. He has also taught at ENC as an Adjunct Faculty member before being hired full-time. He is a member of the Mass. Teachers Association, Quincy Education Association, National Science Teachers Association and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Rob is an Alumnus of Eastern Nazarene College and has his Master’s in Education Degree.

Mr. Jeffrey Bowe is a new Assistant Professor for the Business and Economics Department at ENC. He comes to ENC with over 25 years of business experience including ownership of multiple companies from Avon CT. He has his MBA from Indiana University and is currently working on his dissertation for his DBA from Anderson University. Jeff brings a unique combination of sales and marketing experience to the Business and Economics Department. He has made several presentations and had various speaking engagements throughout the Mid-West. He has presented at the National Conference for Sales management in March 2011, and the Society for Marketing Advances and Doctoral Consortium at the Society of Marketing Advances in November 2010. He has written a book titled “Get INFOCUS Get Cash: Describing Sales Tactics, Strategy and Related Communication Skills".

Ms. Sacha Santimano is a new Instructor in the Movement Arts and Athletics Division. Sacha comes to ENC from Iola KS, where she was Interim Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Allen Community College and an Instructor. She has also served as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Asbury University in Wilmore KY where she was an Instructor and Director of Intramurals. She served as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Cumberlands, Williamsburg KY, where during the 2007 -2008 season they finished with a 23-8 record, were Conference Champions and ranked 24th in the Nation. She has served as Assistant Women’s basketball Coach at the University of Saint Mary, in Leavenworth KS. Sacha has served in the United States Air Force Reserves in Medical Logistics. She has her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Cumberlands, Williamsburg KY and her Physical education and Health Certification. Sacha has also been working on her MBA from the University of Saint Mary, Leavenworth KS which is soon to be completed.

Kellee Birnstiel is a new Instructor in the Business and Economics Department. Kellee comes to ENC from Pembroke MA. Kellee brings 13 years of experience as a Vice President for State Street Bank and Trust Co., where she was a site manager for a satellite office of 40 staff; has two years of International business experience with J.P. Morgan, and 5 years’ experience consulting for Archetype Consulting. Kellee is also an Alumnus of ENC and earned her Master’s Degree in banking and Financial Services from Boston University. She has been an Adjunct Instructor in the Business and Economics Department in the past.

Joshua Sweeden is a new Instructor in the Religion and Philosophy Department for 2011-2012. He comes to ENC from Jamaica Plain, MA. Josh is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Boston University School of Theology. His dissertation work is “Ecclesiology and Work: Considering the Role of the Church and Community Practice in Good Work”. He has his M.Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary; Kansas City MO. Josh was a graduate of Point Loma University. He has a variety of teaching experience including a 2-year Instructor of Theology and Spiritual guide at Leavenworth U.S. Penitentiary, 2-year Instructor and 2-year Teaching Assistantship at Boston University School of Theology.
