The ENC Choral Union invites members of the community to participate in the group’s 80th annual December production of Handel’s Messiah. Beginning September 10, weekly rehearsals will be held from 7:00 to 9:00pm on Tuesday evenings in the Cove Fine Arts Center.

“The Choral Union’s annual performance of the Messiah is a much-anticipated holiday tradition,” said ENC Music Department Chair Dr. Kevin D. Smith, the group’s director. “If you love to sing, you will be a welcomed member of the ENC Choral Union.”

For more information on the ENC Choral Union, contact Smith at 617-745-3614 or the ENC Music Department at 617-745-3715.

Adults from the Greater Boston and South Shore area are invited to play with the ENC Symphonic Winds ensemble, which includes ENC students and local professional musicians. High school students are also welcome to join the ensemble with the recommendation of their high school music director.

“The Symphonic Winds Ensemble offers a great opportunity for former high school band members to dust off their cases and get back into the spirit of musical performance,” said Professor Stephen Bell, the group’s director. “It is a much valued art form, and the community appreciates the free concerts we perform during the year.”

There is no fee for participating in the ensemble, which rehearses Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Cove Fine Arts Center beginning September 4. For more information on joining the ensemble, please e-mail your name, contact information and the instrument you play to scbell1@comcast.net.
