EN430 Transatlantic Literature: Modernism and Post-Modernism

The third course in
the Transatlantic Sequence, EN430 surveys British and North American English literature of
the Modernist and Post-Modernist periods. Students will learn the shape of each literary
movement and consider how the work of individual authors reflects and reacts against the
prevailing literary and philosophical trends of these periods. Students will also consider
the differences between these movements as they evolved across different geographical,
cultural, and political landscapes. Prerequisite: CP245 or equivalent.
