Biographical Notes

Josh Sweeden comes to ENC as a Ph.D. candidate in Practical Theology with strong interests in ecclesiology. His primary areas of teaching at ENC include Church History, Christian Tradition, and Practical and Missional Theology. His research focuses on the role of ecclesial communities in the formation of Christian ethics. In particular, he is exploring theological understandings of work and the potential role of ecclesial life in the formation of ‘good work’. His further theological interests include theological economics, Christianity and culture, theologies of vocation, and church/congregational development. Josh Sweeden is a licensed minister in the Church of the Nazarene and is married to Nell Becker Sweeden, who is also a theologian and minister in the Church of the Nazarene.
