John Minoru Mori graduated from ENC in 1956 and PC Graduate School in 1958. He then returned to Japan and planted a Nazarene church in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, and the church has been growing ever since.

Beginning in 1961, he served Japan Christian Jr. College in Chiba City for 17 years as a chaplain and professor. At the same time, he served nine years as the college church pastor. In 1963 Dr. Mori began teaching Bible and theology at Japan Nazarene Seminary. For the last 23 years he has served as principal of Japan Evangelical Seminary. This school has maintained an enrollment of 50 students every year. Dr. Mori has written seven evangelical books on theology, Bible, and history in Japanese. In 1969 he started a new Church of the Nazarene in Chiba and served as its pastor for 43 years.

For the past 30 years or more, John has preached the Gospel and taught the Bible to prisoners in Chiba Penitentiary once every month. He conducts Christian funerals for them as well. John Minoru Mori, was conferred an Order of Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays on November 9, 2011. John Minoru Mori and Mrs. Susan Hisayo Sasao Mori had the honor of being invited into The Emperor‘s Palace to meet him.

Dr. Mori is 82 years old and still active in preaching and pastoring in Chiba City.
