In order to be considered for financial assistance (federal, state, institutional), students must submit the following documentation:
1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) electronically. The ENC school code is 002145. If possible, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool when given the option on the FAFSA. Students should print a copy of the completed FAFSA and the confirmation sheet for their records. This form is required to be eligible for any federal- or state-based aid. Institutional aid is awarded based on an evaluation of merit and need. If the Office of Financial Aid does not receive a FAFSA, it will be unable to determine the complete institutional award package.
(Suggested date by which this application should be completed for greatest award: March 1.)
2. The FAFSA is usually the only form required for residents who may be eligible for a state grant. Some states, such as Vermont, may require a supplemental form in addition to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This supplemental form will be available through secondary school guidance offices or appropriate state agencies. Complete and send this supplemental application form to the appropriate agency by the deadline.
3. Some students are flagged for the Verification process by the federal government. The government randomly selects 30% of all students for this process. This means that the school needs the student to complete a Verification Worksheet and submit a Tax Return Transcript. If a student is a dependent they must also submit a Tax Return Transcript for their parent(s). To request a Tax Return Transcript go to www.irs.gov
4. By completing the admission application and the FAFSA, the student has applied for federal, state, and institutional aid; no other application form is required. Once a student is accepted to Eastern Nazarene and has submitted the FAFSA, the student should receive their financial aid award package containing all federal, state, and institutional aid for which they qualify. This award package will contain all required forms and list further processes and actions that may be required. Students can also see their requirements on their MyENC account.
