After leaving ENC, Christie Everett Chapman worked for Lutheran Social Services in Concord, NH, in their Therapeutic Foster Care program. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist and Family Support Specialist, she did case work for children in long term foster care, for families reunifying after a separation, or for families at risk of being separated. After doing this job for a year, Christie moved to Cleveland, OH where she received her MSW from Case Western Reserve University. With a concentration in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, she fulfilled her internship at The Achievement Centers for Children, a multi-disciplinary agency for children and adults with disabilities. There she worked in the Early Childhood Mental Health program, doing relationship-based counseling with parents and children ages birth to five. Christie is now back in New England, working in the Home-Based Family Services Program at New Opportunities, Inc. in Waterbury, CT. Once again, she is working with foster families and biological families who are reunifying or at risk of separating. She is also currently working towards earning her clinical social work license. When that is completed, she hopes to work at a community mental health agency as an individual or family therapist. Christie hopes to one day earn her doctorate and be able to teach social work classes.
