Eileen Price
After graduating from ENC, Eileen was accepted to both Simmons and
University of Maryland in Advanced Standing. She decided to attend the
University of Maryland and was accepted into the Title IV-E program,
which is a program that pays for school if you intern for child welfare
services and then accept a job in child welfare for a year. Eileen
interned at Carroll County Department of Social Services in the In-Home
Family Services unit from September until May, working with a total of
6 families in order to aid them in obtaining additional services and
resources as well as provide support and guidance. During her
internship Eileen had the rare opportunity to take a case to court (not
normally done by students) and obtain an Order of Protective
Supervision on one of her clients. When she graduated in May of 2008,
she interviewed and obtained a job at Carroll County DSS in the same
unit in which she interned. In May of 2008, Eileen obtained her
license: LGSW (Licensed Graduate Social Worker) and is now working to
obtain the needed supervision hours in order to get her LCSW-C
(Licensed Certified Social Worker- Clinical). With this, she plans to
pursue a supervisory position in Child Welfare.
