Chemists work in industries ranging from multinational corporations to small entrepreneurial firms. An entry-level B.S. or B.A. chemist may analyze and test products, work in technical sales or service, work to streamline processes for efficiency or cost savings, or assist senior chemists in a research laboratory. Many chemists work on research and development projects, in pilot plants and factories.
